
George Janky Death, Obituary – George Janky, a former player for the Dayton Flyers who was also honored in the University of Dayton Hall of Fame, passed away yesterday at the age of 74. Janky was also honored in the Dayton Flyers Hall of Fame. In addition to that, Janky was inducted into the Dayton Flyers Hall of Fame. The university has issued a statement in respect to his passing, which may be viewed below. The message reads as follows: George Janky was a beloved figure at the University of Dayton, where he worked during both the Fieldhouse and the Arena eras. The university is in mourning at his passing. The institution is going to go through a period of profound mourning following his death.
On the court, he was a player deserving of being inducted into the Hall of Fame; however, off the court, he was an even better Flyer. Janky’s high school years in Chicago at St. Rita, which she attended from 1962 until 1966, were marked by academic success on a consistent basis on her part. After that, he was awarded a scholarship to attend the University of Dayton, where he finally became a member of the team that won the National Invitation Tournament in the year 1968.
In addition, he was a member of the squad that went on to win the NCAA Championship in the same year. During his time with the Flyers, Janky scored an average of 11.1 points per season and appeared in 82 games for them over the course of three seasons. The Portland Trail Blazers selected him to be a part of their squad and give him a position on the club in the sixth round of the 1970 NBA draft. This gave him the opportunity to play for the team. In recognition of all that he had accomplished while attending the University of Delaware, he was admitted into the institution’s Hall of Fame in the year 1993. The University of Delaware made the announcement in 2021 that Janky had scored 910 points during the course of 82 games, which placed him in the top 70 of the school’s all-time list of players with the most points scored. Janky played for the University of Delaware men’s basketball team.
